Funny job application answers (part 2)

The Spinach language.
One of my popular blog posts on the Charles Fudgemuffin blog was my round-up of 'funny job application answers' which highlighted a few mistakes to avoid when appying for a job.

There have been many more silly answers by job applicants, so here's another batch of amusing answers taken from CVs, job application forms and job interviews...

1) Strengths: One of my greatest strengths is being able to identify many foreign accents. I am also bilingual, speaking three languages: English, French and Spinach.

2) Why do you want to work for this company?
Because I applied at 100 other companies and none of them have called me yet.

3) What makes you suitable for the job?
I never get hungry.

4) Do you get along well with others?
Yes, much better than I used to now that I have completed the court recommended anger management classes.

5) Sign here:
Aries

Job Attributes: "I have trouble getting out of bed in the morning."
6) What are your weaknesses?
I often oversleep and have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.

7) Interviewer: What has been your greatest achievement?
Applicant: Writing my novel.
Interviewer: I meant something you achieved while at work.
Applicant: Yes, I wrote it while at work.

8) Reason for leaving your previous job:
I didn’t have much choice. Security escorted me from the building.

9) Why do you want the job?
My parents told me I need to get a job so that's why I'm here.

10) Available to work:
Obviously

11) Why should we hire you?
I would be a great asset to the events team because I party all the time.

12) What do you think sets you apart from other candidates?
I don’t know, I’ve never met them.

13) Attributes: My legs are really hairy.

"Please wait to be 'severed' and seated."
14) Please accept my application for the role of customer services director, which I appreciate may come as a surprise given I was fired from the position last month.

15) Application to work in a restaurant...
Job Duties: Severing customers.

Correct spelling is always important but as candidate 15 demonstrates, it's especially important when working in a restaurant. And you have to respect the honesty of candidate number 12, although I'm not sure the interviewing employer would be quite so impressed.

. . . . . . . .

There are loads more examples of inappropriate responses by job applicants, so I'll probably have another follow up post on the same theme at some point. If any readers have any more examples, then feel free to post a comment.
