Previously on the Charles Fudgemuffin blog I've featured silly quiz show answers given by absent-minded contestants, but it's not just contestants who suffer from the occasional moment of brain freeze.

Here are a few quotes from TV shows where the hosts and presenters managed to out-stupid their guests.

1) Stating the obvious (part 1)

Presenter: "So do you have any brothers and sisters?"
Contestant: "A baby brother."
Presenter: "Is it a boy or a girl?"

2) When introducing a married couple...

"And you both met at the same place?"

3) Wow! That's marvellous!

Jim Bowen: "What do you do for a living?"
Contestant: "I've been unemployed for two years."
Jim Bowen: "Smashing!"

Presenter: "So how long does London Fashion Week last?"
Fashion Expert: "A week."

7) Stating the obvious (part 2)

Presenter: "So, you're a teacher's assistant.  What do they do?"
Contestant: "Assist the teacher."

TV host: "Got any children?"
Contestant: "No."
TV host: "Grandchildren?"

Finally, the key to being a successful presenter is to always listen carefully to your guests...

Studio Guest: "I'm 43 now and have lost confidence through having so many setbacks."
Attentive TV Host: "And how old are you now?"
Studio Guest: "I'm 43 now."
